چکیده

J. Boryca, T. Wyleciał, D. Urbaniak, Częstochowa University of Technology, Czestochowa, Poland In the process of heating steel the processes of chemical interaction occur between the furnace atmosphere and the surface of the steel being heated. Great importance, in aspect of course of the oxidizing process equal as well as for phenomenon of scale adhesion on the charge surface, condition of his surface has. Roughness is parameter defining condition of surface. The methodology of investigations of scale adhesion in work was presented. The methodology of measurement of roughness surface was introduced. Influence of surface roughness on the scale adhesion was described. The paper presents correlation of the scale adhesion but roughness of surface.

CFD Study on Hydrogen-Air Premixed Combustion in a Micro Scale Chamber

This paper reports a CFD modeling study to investigate the hydrogen-air mixture combustion in a micro scale chamber. Nine species with nineteen reversible reactions were considered in the premixed combustion model. The effect of operational and geometrical conditions including; combustor size, wall conductivity, reactant flow rates and hydrogen feed splitting on combustion stabilit...

Studying the Effect of Reformer Gas and Exhaust Gas Recirculation on Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition Engine Operation

Combustion in homogeneous charge compression ignition (HCCI) engine is controlled auto ignition of well-mixed fuel, air and residual gas. Since onset of HCCI combustion depends on the auto ignition of fuel/air mixture, there is no direct control on the start of combustion process. Therefore, HCCI combustion becomes unstable rather easily especially at lower and higher engine load. Charge strati...

Effect of Initial Temperature and EGR on Combustion and Performance Characteristics of Homogenous Charge Compression Ignition Engine Fueled with Dimethyl Ether

Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition (HCCI) combustion is a pioneer method of combustion in which pre-mixed fuel and oxidizer (typically air) are compressed to the point of auto-ignition. HCCI engines can operate with most alternative fuels, especially, dimethyl ether (DME) which has been tested as a possible diesel fuel due to its simultaneously low NOx and PM emissions. In this paper a ...

Numerical investigation on Effect of thermally isolated piston on improving SI engine performance during the cold start conditions

In low ambient temperatures the engine will have poor output torque and power generation at the first cycles of its performance, long start time and huge noxious emissions because of insufficient temperature and quality of air-fuel mixture and failure of flame to burn the charge. It is noted that any attempt to increase the charge temperature leads to better combustion conditions. By applying t...

Modeling of Air Relative Humidity Effect on Adhesion Force in Manipulation of Nano-Particles and its Application in AFM

In this paper, the effect of air relative humidity and capillary force on contact geometry of surfaces based on JKR model by Atomic force microscopy was investigated in order to manipulate nano-particles. With transition from macro to nano-scale, the effect of surface forces becomes more significant in comparison with inertial force. Because contact mechanics models are based on surface energy ...
